A friendly reminder to parents dropping off students for school before 8 AM. If you need to get out of your car to assist your child, please pull past the crosswalk to park. The area before the crosswalk is reserved for parents who can drop their children quickly without getting out of the car. Thank you!
We have 2 binders of information from Wood County BOE with information about the possible closure of Fairplains Elementary at the end of this school year. These binders are available in the office and if you're interested we will give you a space at Fairplains to look at them. The information is also available at WCS on 13th St. Our hearing is scheduled for Oct. 23 at 7:30 PM at Fairplains. If you would like to speak at this hearing, you need to sign a speaker card at 7:00 PM. The decision will be announced at Jackson Middle School after the hearing on Oct. 24.
Good morning! This afternoon we will have lock-out and lockdown drills. Please don't be alarmed if your child mentions this to you after school. We are practicing so we know the procedures if we need to go into a real lock-out or lockdown.

Our elementary open house will be from 4 to 6 p.m. and our middle, high, WCTC and Caperton will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Students' first day back to school will be Wednesday, August 21st. We're excited to see you and kick off a fantastic year!
