Families,
Please do not park and pick up students in the bus loop. This interferes with the driver's routine. Parent pickups are to use the parent pick up line in front of the school.

The new mulch has arrived. Ray is busy spreading piles on the playground. If you have a pitchfork, rake, or shovel then come on over and help spread! The sooner we get it spread, the sooner the kids can play on the new equipment. You are welcome to spread anytime today or this evening. Just sign in the office. Volunteers may also help out tomorrow.

Dear Wood County Schools’ families: Thank you for your courage, patience, and understanding this week as our school personnel and law enforcement agencies worked together to keep our schools safe. We are fortunate for the relationship between our school system and law enforcement. Wood County Schools would like to express gratitude and appreciation for the law enforcement agencies throughout our county and state who provided support to Wood County Schools this week. Thank you to the Parkersburg Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Vienna Police Department, Williamstown Police Department, and the Capitol Police. -- Christie M. We have been made aware of false information circulating on social media stating that Williamstown Elementary and Williamstown Middle/High School are on lockdown. This information is **not true**. There is no lockdown at either school, and all operations are proceeding as normal.

Parents this information is from the WCS site under Bus Safety.
PRE-SCHOOL, KINDERGARTEN, AND GRADES ONE THROUGH THREE, TRANSPORTATION REQUIRES APPROPRIATE SUPERVISION. Students in pre-school, kindergarten, and grades one through three will be let off the bus only under appropriate supervision. Appropriate supervision would include a responsible adult or older sibling. If appropriate supervision is not provided, the driver will return the student to the school. REPEATED INSTANCES OF SUPERVISION NOT BEING PROVIDED SHALL BE CAUSE TO REVOKE TRANSPORTATION PRIVILEGES.
The same rule applies to walkers and bike riders. A student must be in fourth grade or above to walk home alone or ride a bike. If a child has an older sibling at the elementary, they may walk with them.
This is not a Williamstown Rule this is a Wood County Schools Policy.
