Open enrollment starts today. Complete the form at woodcountyschoolswv.com/enrollment. Need some assistance or do not have access to the form? Visit your school office. The central office, at 1210 13th St. in Parkersburg, is another option for assistance with completing the form.

Open Enrollment begins at noon today (Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024). If you would like your child to attend a school outside of your current attendance zone, you must complete the online enrollment form. The link opens at noon today.

Every year at this time we must fulfill a requirement of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986. It is our responsibility to notify in writing, parents/legal guardian, school staff and employee organizations of the availability of the Asbestos Management Plan for each facility. *Student Test Scores* In spring 2023, students in Grades 3 through 8 took the General Summative Assessment and students in Grade 11 took the SAT School Day assessment. On Tuesday, September 12, students will receive a printed copy of their individual student score report which will contain information regarding each student's performance on the tested areas. To further assist parents/guardians in understanding their child's performance on the WVGSA or the SAT School Day, the West Virginia Department of Education is providing an individual video score report for each student in addition to the printed report.. A link to your child's individual video score report will be sent to your child's K12 student email address on September 12th. Please work with your student to access the link in the email. When you click on the link, you will be taken to a site where you will need to enter your child's date of birth to access the video report. Resources are also available at that site to help your student. If you need assistance in locating the video score report link, or if you do not know your child's K12 email address or password, you may contact your child's school, or contact Cathy Grewe at the Wood County Schools Board Office at 304-420-9663 Extension 122.

Good afternoon Mineral Wells Mustangs! We are excited to welcome our students back to school tomorrow. Doors open at 7:30 and students are tardy at 8:15. (Kindergarten parents please follow the schedule that you received in the mail. The schedule is also posted on our website.) Parents that are dropping their children off at school can either park in the parking lot and walk students across the crosswalk or pull up to the curb and stop to let their child exit the car. Please only use the drop off lane if your child can exit the car independently. Students in Kindergarten will be dismissed at 2:55 at the main doors. Students in 1st grade will dismissed by the picnic shelter doors at 2:55. Students in 2nd-5th grades will exit the main doors at approximately 3:00. We ask that all parents that are picking up their child at the main doors stand close to the curb. This prevents students from being overwhelmed when they exit the building and it helps keep all our students safe. Please make sure that both your child and the teacher are aware of how your child is getting home tomorrow. Thank you for helping us make the first day of school a memorable experience for everyone. We hope that everyone has a wonderful evening!

Mineral Wells Elementary's Open House is Monday, August 21, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

SCREENING FOR CHILDREN ENTERING SCHOOL - Screening will be conducted by school nurses and other professionals during regular school hours in Wood County Schools for students entering school for the first time. In addition, students entering parochial or other non-public schools will be screened. Screening will be done to identify problems in the following areas: language, speech, hearing, and vision. Parents of public school students who do not wish to have their child participate in this screening should inform the principal of the school attended by the child.
